Title: Program Lead
New Memphis is forging a more prosperous and vital new Memphis by attracting, developing, activating and retaining talent. This role is leading the Embark program designed to support and engage our city’s promising 20-somethings. Over six classes, Embark participants develop their capacity to contribute and lead, create lasting connections with peers, and become familiar with the myriad of ways they can get involved in our city’s forward momentum.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Lead six cohorts of Embark annually and meet or exceed the goals set for the program
  • Work with Programs Ambassador and external facilitators to deliver an excellent program experience for participants
  • Refine program content and curriculum based on feedback from participants and stakeholders
  • Lead team’s enrollment of young professionals from corporate, education, and other sectors into the Embark program to meet established nomination and application goals
  • Lead the application process, selection of participants, and creation of cohorts in collaboration with the New Memphis team
  • Incorporate Embark participants into New Memphis’ existing network
  • Collaborate with the Embark alumni board and Alumni Engagement Manager on engaging graduates in their work
  • Ensure the collection of Embark program and alumni evaluation data and communicate results to broader team
  • Manage New Memphis’ relationship with some existing Embark stakeholders and support the team’s efforts to steward new and existing program donors
  • Supervise the Programs Ambassador
  • Manage relationships with partners in education such as Teach for America, Memphis Teacher Residency, and New Leaders
  • Plan and execute workshops that convene local school leaders around topics of priority in their roles
  • Lead grant preparation for funding related to program and initiatives 

Job Requirements

  • 4 or more years of relevant experience
  • Outstanding organizational and follow up skills
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging diverse groups of high-performing young professionals
  • Skilled in:
    • Managing multiple and competing priorities
    • Communicating professionally, written and verbal
    • Collaborating with a diverse staff team
    • Taking initiative and managing work with minimal oversight
    • Delivering excellence in a fast-paced environment
  • Extended hours, including evening and weekend time
  • Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Windows proficiency
  • Adaptable to other applications, like Salesforce
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in the education sector is a plus
