The mission of The Collective is to address poverty by creating real community and investing in the vision and dreams of young adults. In the next five years, The Memphis Collective plans on forming a community of 1,000 young adults in Memphis who have experienced poverty, realized the dream of social mobility, and who can be ambassadors in positively changing our communities. The Memphis Collective is a membership organization that provides career pathways and opportunities for young adults so they can change the world they see.
There are three open positions at The Memphis Collective: Career Success Coach, Office Manager, and Recruitment Manager
- Career Success Coach: The Career Coach plays the most critical role in ensuring young adults reach their vision and dreams. Coaches teach during the two-month intensive training run by The Collective and then coach young adults through post-secondary education. The coach provides personalized guidance in a several ways: planning for life, navigating barriers, making it through school, preparing for the job application process, securing a career job, developing new skills, acquiring resources and sustaining employment. The Career Coach’s most important objective is to develop and cultivate a deep and meaningful relationship with each young adult. Career coaches are held accountable for the success of their cohort of young adults, and are expected to conduct weekly coaching sessions. - Office Manager: This Office Manager reports to the VP of Operations and provides administrative support to the CEO and VP of Programs where needed. The role will support multiple areas of the organization including, but not limited to, facilitating general office needs, creating financial reports, and assisting with the admissions and monitoring & evaluation process of the Memphis Collective’s programs. While this is an administrative role, enthusiasm and passion for young adults is important. Having a genuine interest in helping them learn and empowering them to succeed is critical to the organizational culture we want to create. This position will be known as the ‘face of the office’ and will interact with program scholars and various external stakeholders. - Recruitment Manager: The Recruitment Manager works closely with the Vice President of Programs to create a pipeline of applicants who will be successfully admitted to The Collective. As an engaging and relatable communicator, this individual coordinates and conducts recruitment visits, presentations, manages the recruitment database, and provides excellent customer service to leads and applicants. They are the first point of contact for The Collective and are responsible for building deep and meaningful relationships with the young adults we serve.
